ALL-AMERICAN BEEF BURGERS

Ingredients (Makes 4 burgers)

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef, 80/20 preferred for juiciness

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 4 burger buns, toasted

  • Optional toppings:

    • American cheese

    • Tomato slices

    • Lettuce

    • Pickles

    • Onion (raw or caramelized)

    • Ketchup, mustard, mayo


Instructions

1. Prepare the Patties

  • In a bowl, gently mix the beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire.

  • Form into 4 patties, about ¾-inch thick.

  • Press a small indent in the center of each patty so it cooks evenly.

2. Cook the Burgers

Grill or Pan Method:

  • Preheat to medium-high heat.

  • Cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side for medium, or longer if you prefer well-done.

  • Add cheese during the last minute if you want melted American cheese.

3. Toast the Buns

  • Lightly butter the buns and toast them on the grill or pan until golden.

4. Assemble

  • Bottom bun → sauce → lettuce → patty → cheese → tomato → onion → pickles → top bun.


Tips for the Best All-American Burgers

  • Don’t overmix the meat; it makes the burgers tough.

  • 80/20 ground chuck gives the perfect flavor and juiciness.

  • Let patties rest 3 minutes before assembling.

  • For extra flavor, brush the patties lightly with butter while grilling.
