AMERICAN BITSY BEEF BURGERS

(Mini Classic American Beef Sliders)

⭐ What Makes Them “Bitsy”

  • Small patties: 1.5–2 oz (40–55 g) each

  • Ultra-juicy with a great crust

  • Soft slider buns

  • Simple, classic American toppings


🥩 Ingredients (Makes 8–10 Bitsy Burgers)

For the Mini Patties

  • 1 lb (450 g) 80/20 ground beef

  • Salt & freshly cracked black pepper

  • 1 tsp onion powder (optional)

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional) — lightly mixed in

  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)

Buns & Toppings

  • 8–10 slider buns or mini brioche

  • Butter for toasting

  • 4–5 slices American cheese, each cut into quarters

  • Pickle chips

  • Ketchup, mustard, mayo

  • Optional:

    • Thin tomato slices

    • Finely shredded lettuce

    • Thinly sliced onion


🔪 How to Make the Bitsy Patties

1. Portion

  • Divide the beef into 1.5–2 oz pieces (8–10 pieces total).

2. Shape

  • Form loose balls, then gently flatten into 2-inch (5 cm) patties.

  • Don’t overwork the meat — keeps them tender.

3. Season

  • Sprinkle salt & pepper on both sides right before cooking.


🍳 Cooking (The Expert Way)

1. Heat your cooking surface

  • Use a hot skillet, flat-top, or cast-iron griddle.

2. Cook the patties

  • Add a thin film of oil or butter.

  • Place patties down and cook 2 minutes until the edges brown.

3. Flip once

  • Add a quarter-slice of American cheese to each.

  • Cover for 20–30 seconds to melt.

Cook Time:

  • Total: 3–4 minutes for juicy medium.


🥯 Toasting the Slider Buns

  • Spread a little butter on the cut sides.

  • Toast lightly until golden brown.

  • Don’t over-toast — sliders need soft buns.


🍔 Assembly (Classic American Style)

For each bitsy burger:

  1. Bottom bun

  2. Small smear of mayo

  3. Lettuce or tomato (if using)

  4. Cheesy bitsy patty

  5. One or two pickle chips

  6. A stripe of mustard + tiny dot of ketchup

  7. Top bun


✨ Variations

Bitsy Smash Burgers

  • Start with balls of meat.

  • Smash flat with a spatula for crispy edges.

  • Add paper-thin onions underneath before smashing.

Bitsy BBQ Burgers

  • Brush patties with BBQ sauce in the last minute.

  • Top with cheddar and crispy onions.

Bitsy Bacon Cheeseburgers

  • Add a small piece of bacon or bacon crumbles under the cheese.

AMERICAN BEEF BURGER RECIPE INGREDIENTS
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 5 slices process American cheese
  • 4 tbsp. butter, 1/2 stick
  • 2 tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 5 split hamburger buns
  • 10 cherry tomatoes, sliced thin
  • 8 small white onions, peeled and sliced thin
AMERICAN BEEF BURGER RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS

First of all mix ground beef and seasoned salt lightly in a small bowl; shape into 40 one inch patties. 

And then place in a single layer in a shallow baking pan. 

Next is to bake in moderate oven 375 degrees for 10 minutes. 

Cut each cheese slice into 9 squares; place one over each meat patty. Bake 4 minutes longer, or until cheese melts slightly.

While meat cook, blend butter and mustard in a cup. 

Toast hamburger buns in oven; spread with butter mixture; cut each half in 4 triangles. 

When ready to serve, place each meat patty on a bun triangle; top with a slice each of tomato and onion; hold in place with a wooden pick.
